Our son Mike Wrestler had a dream of
reincorporating a car show into Buffalo Homecoming. In 2004 he
took the initiative to head up a committee to work on this for
the 2005 Buffalo Homecoming. On November 3rd, 2004 he was
fatally injured in a car accident leaving Altoona Midway High
School. All memorials were put into a scholarship fund in hopes
that it would remind the students and the parents every year of
how important safety is in the school zone. In his memory,
several family members came together to fulfill his dream and
followed through with the car show for the 2005 Buffalo
Homecoming, as a tribute to him.
It is our dream now, to carry on with
the car show every year in hopes that this too, will remind
fellow drivers of how important it is to drive safely,
especially when going through school zones. It is also our dream
to keep the scholarship alive for several more years with all
the profits that are made from the car show to further the Mike
Wrestler Memorial Scholarship Fund. With your continued
participation and donations, we will be able to succeed in our
goal to continue the scholarship fund.
The first year was a lot of fun and
hard work and we are hoping that the years to come will be even
better. Thank you and God bless all of you who help make that
happen. |
